1. What is Hello Kitty Con?
Hello Kitty Con 2014 is the first ever official Hello Kitty convention in the world! Presented by Sanrio, Hello Kitty Con is a unique four-day event inviting Hello Kitty fans from around the world to come together to celebrate all things Hello Kitty!

2. Where and when is Hello Kitty Con being held?
Hello Kitty Con will be taking place at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Los Angeles, CA from Thursday, October 30th to Sunday, November 2nd, 2014 from 10 am to 7 pm daily.

3. What can I do at Hello Kitty Con?
Guests will enjoy a full lineup of activities, events, entertainment, shopping and more - all featuring Hello Kitty! Offerings will include: Hello Kitty Super Supermarket featuring a curated selection of vendors offering limited edition convention exclusives, products and activities, Hello Kitty Retrospective display and Vintage Boutique selling rare Hello Kitty collectibles from the past, lectures and panel discussions exploring the world of Hello Kitty, classes and workshops offering hands-on Hello Kitty-themed learning experiences, a (real!) Hello Kitty Tattoo shop; Arcade, Art installations, Photo Opportunities, official Hello Kitty Con shop offering convention-only Hello Kitty products and a wide selection of Hello Kitty goodies from around the globe and more!
Hello Kitty Con ticket holders also have free access during the convention only to the "Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty" exhibition at the Japanese American National Museum. 4. I want to go! How can I buy tickets?
Sorry! Hello Kitty Con 2014 is sold out. There are no more tickets are available for any event days. Thank you for your support!

5. Where do I pick up my Hello Kitty Con badge?
You can pick up your badge at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) located adjacent to the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
 
Tues, 10/28, 10am - 2pm
Wed, 10/29, 10am - 2pm
Thurs, 10/30 - Sat, 11/1, 8am - 6:30pm
Sun, 11/2, 9am - 6:30pm
 
Remember: Hello Kitty Con will be open from Thursday, 10/30 – Sunday, 11/2 from 10am to 7pm. You must check in at this location, bring your printed confirmation and a valid photo ID to pick up your badge.

6. I have a question about my Hello Kitty Con ticket. Who can I talk to?

8. Can I bring pets to Hello Kitty Con? My puppy loves Hello Kitty!
Sorry, but unfortunately pets are not allowed at The Geffen Contemporary. Don’t worry though, even if your pet pals can’t attend, they can still follow the fun with Hello Kitty on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, and more. Stay tuned!

10. Where are the workshops located?
Hello Kitty Workshops will be located next to MOCA in the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) building: Kyoichi & Toyo Nerio Education Center, Education Center and the Democracy Lab.

11. How often are workshops offered every day?
Workshops scheduled for the day will be offered at four different times: 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. The workshop activity will be the same for each session time slot that day, so don't worry about having to choose between sessions!

12. Is there a limit to the number of workshops that I can attend?
Please try to limit the number of workshops you attend to two (2) per day to allow others a chance to experience the fun.

13. Do I need to pick the time of my workshop or can I just attend any session that day?
All workshops are ticketed events so you'll choose your workshop and the time it is offered when you buy your ticket.

14. Can I buy a workshop ticket the day of or do I need to buy them in advance?
We expect these great workshops to sell out so don't miss out and buy yours in advance as on site availability will be limited or perhaps not at all!

15. I already bought my Hello Kitty Con ticket. Why do I need to pay extra for a workshop ticket?
For every workshop, we have a $10 materials & supplies fee. Whatever supercute project you make, you get to keep!

16. I'm going to Hello Kitty Con with a group of friends. How many people are allowed in each workshop?
Each workshop room varies in its capacity. The listed number of workshop tickets will indicate how many people are allowed in each workshop.

17. I forgot my workshop ticket at home. Will there be anywhere at Hello Kitty Con where I can print it again?
Unfortunately, there will not be any printers available. We will only be accepting printed workshop tickets at the event.

18. Is there a minimum age for any of the workshops?
All ages are welcome! An adult who also has a workshop ticket must accompany anyone under the age of 18.

19. I'd like to attend a workshop with my 5-year old. Will I need to buy two workshop tickets?
Yes, you will need to buy two tickets. One for you and one for your child.

20. I love the workshop schedule! Can I buy just a workshop ticket and not a Hello Kitty Con ticket?
Sorry! All workshops require a Hello Kitty Con badge and separate workshop ticket to attend.

21. Can I buy a workshop ticket for a day that is different than my Hello Kitty Con badge day?
Sorry! Your workshop ticket day must match your Hello Kitty Con badge day. For example, your Thursday Hello Kitty Con badge will not give you access to a Friday workshop.

22. Can I buy a workshop ticket and a Hello Kitty Con ticket in the same transaction?
Yes, you can purchase both items in the same transaction.

23. Tell me more about the Cosplay Contest!
Every day at Hello Kitty Con, there will be a chance for you to show off your best Cosplay creation. Participants should arrive to the main stage at the Friendship Village by 4:20pm with the contest starting at 4:30pm until 5pm.
 
Judges will be rating contestants based on the following categories – Favorite Hello Kitty, Favorite Sanrio Character, Best Hello Kitty mash-up, and Best Halloween Theme.
 
Please remember keep it decent and only Hello Kitty or Sanrio characters are allowed (unless it is a mash-up!). No real weapons, painted costumes or live animals are allowed.

24. I've got some supercute tats! Where can I show them off?
Every day from 2:30-3pm, fans with great tattoos can participate in our Hello Kitty Tattoo contest. Contestants should arrive to the main stage at the Friendship Village by 2:20pm and be ready to show the audience and the judges their best ink!
All tattoos will be done on a first come, first served basis. You must be at least 18 years old to participate (valid ID required). Tattoos will be in high demand so you must be present at time of your appointment, or you will lose your spot and we will take the next person. Only one tattoo per guest from the flash (design) provided, no substitutions. Please remember this is a family friendly event so be tasteful with the placement of your tattoo! All Tattoo Artists reserve the right to refuse service based on standard reasoning (e.g. Abnormal skin conditions, coherent state of the person receiving the tattoo, etc…). You may be subject to photos and videos for marketing purposes.
 
Remember! Tattoos must be readily visible (no public nudity!) and no sex, profanity, guns, violent, drug or politically related art. Only Hello Kitty and Sanrio character themed tattoos can be entered. Mash-ups are allowed as long as it meets the criteria outlined.

25. I'm interested in getting a tattoo! What should I know before waiting in line for one?

26. I'm going to Hello Kitty Con! How can I have the best experience possible?
Hydrate! Be sure to drink water and stay hydrated. Eat something! Healthy foods will give you the energy and fuel for the day. Please enjoy food and beverages where eating and drinking is permitted.
Rest! Please get a good amount of sleep. There are rest areas for you to relax during the day too
Sunscreen! If you spend significant time in outdoor areas make sure to bring sunscreen.
Comfy shoes! Make sure to bring comfy shoes for the cement floors.
Light jacket/sweater! Weather varies in October; stay warm in the evenings and in the AC.
Camera, sketchbook and poster tubes! There will be lots of artists on hand doing signings throughout the convention. Take lots of pics to capture the memories and add #HelloKittyCon to your shared shots to join the Hello Kitty Con Photo Feed on Sanrio.com
Credit cards and cash! Be sure you bring your credit cards and cash if you plan to shop. We will have ATMs onsite, but we recommend you bring enough cash to avoid ATM fees.
Keep track of your things! Your badge, personal belongings, shopping purchases – take a moment to make sure you have everything.
Be happy! Everyone is here to have fun and be together, walk at a safe pace and take your time to enjoy everything. This is a special event for everyone. Smile and you might make a new friend! As Hello Kitty always says, “you can never have too many friends!”

27. I'd like to attend a Special Hello Kitty Event at Chado Tea Room!
Please call Chado at (213) 258-2531 to make your reservation. You will need to provide a credit card upon making your reservation and it will be charged $40 per person for the special event seatings on Halloween and November 1st.

28. Do I need a Hello Kitty Con ticket to get a reservation for the Chado Tea Room special events?
No, you do not need to have a ticket to Hello Kitty Con to get a reservation for one of the special events.

29. Do I need to include my children under 5 years of age when making a reservation for the Chado Tea Room special events?
Yes! Please make sure that your reservation includes everyone who will be there which includes children and infants.

30. Can I go to both the Halloween and November 1st Birthday Chado Tea Room special events?
Yes as long as you are able to get a reservation. However, we would like to encourage people to choose one event or the other as space is limited to just 60 participants per event and of course, there are many people who would like to attend.
